FROST (Directed by Steve Clark)

Jack Frost (aka The Last International Playboy) unravels when he finds out his one true love is marrying somebody else.  Amidst friendships with Scotch Evans, a New York City nightlife correspondent; Ozzy, a troubled but loving heroin addict; and Kate Hardwick, a bewitching, quick-witted reporter, Jack sinks deeper into depression. Haunted by lost love and his mother's suicide, Jack plunges into whiskey and self-destruction until his eleven-year-old neighbor, Sophie, an unlikely mother figure, leads Jack back into himself—and out of the nostalgia and excess that consumed him.

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY (Directed by Oren Peli)
Paranormal Activity is a terrifying supernatural thriller featuring shocking footage of a demonic haunting. Katie and Micah were enjoying a happy, carefree life. Their future looked promising until bizarre events began occurring at night. Katie was no stranger to paranormal phenomena – she had been stalked by a malevolent entity since childhood, and she feared that it had followed her to their new home. They purchased a video camera to find out what was happening at night as they slept.

In the spirit of "It's a Wonderful Life", REAL TIME is
about a hit man (Randy Quaid) who gives a compulsive gambler (Jay
Baruchel) one hour to live.  The movie takes place in real time and
its ultimate subject is what we do with the time we have in this
world.

The film begins when Andy, a hyperactive compulsive gambler, is
plucked off the street by the calm yet imposing Reuban. Reuban tells
Andy that he's been dispatched to kill him. Andy doesn't believe him
at first. He figures it's just another one of  Reuban's scare tactics
to get him to pay off his gambling debt. After a few punches to the
head and a gun held to his face, Andy finally gets it. Reuban is
really going to kill him – but not before Andy gets an hour to do
whatever he'd like before he dies.

Reuban is a little surprised when Andy chooses to spend his hour
looking for a hooker, seeking revenge on a former boss and trying to
find his old Playdough barber shop toy at Grandma's. But as we move
closer to the deadline, we see there is more to Andy than we first
thought and Reuban turns out to have a secret or two of his own.

SCREENING:  Friday, January 18, 8:30pm Treasure Mtn. Inn (255 Main St)

Phil Mucci's FAR OUT to play SLAMDANCE

After receiving an Honorable Mention at Slamdance last year for his multi-award winning short, THE LISTENING DEAD (recently named the Best Horror Short of 2007 by Canada's RUE MORGUE magazine), write/director Phil Mucci returns to Park City with his latest short, FAR OUT.  A delirious throwback to the low-budget gems of the late sixties and early seventies, FAR OUT is an intoxicating cinematic whip-it, full of the sights and sounds one can only experience while under the influence of mind-altering substances!  At it's first screening at OFC's Worldwide Short Film Festival in Toronto, FAR OUT was immediately purchased by The Sundance Channel.   Come and find out why!

"Phil Mucci’s Far Out confirms the promise of his freshman offering, the revisionist silent horror short The Listening Dead , in a big, big way.  Far Out stakes a claim as one of the most impressive genre shorts from a U.S. filmmaker in some time, and positions Mucci as someone to watch, very closely."

-Twitch

"It's super fun, twisted, and gorgeously crafted."

-Dread Central

FAR OUT screens Saturday, January 19th at 8:30 pm, and Wednesday, Jan. 23rd at 10 am, at the Treasure Mountain Inn, 255 Main St.

CITY OF CRANES

CITY OF CRANES takes the viewer on a journey high up in the sky, to
look at the world through the eyes and words of crane drivers. A visual
and poetic celebration of the drivers’ lives, it is a must-see for
anybody who has ever wondered what it is like to work hundreds of feet
above the ground, only surrounded by a small metal cage.

After its North American premiere at Slamdance, the film will be also
showing, amongst others, at Cinequest, True/False and Big Sky
Documentary Film Festival. We are also currently working on a longer
version of the film, with the support of the Channel 4 British
Documentary Film Foundation, which will be released later this year.
